This is the most shocking occurrence perhaps in my lifetime. A world-wide pandemic where we are staying in our houses with limited outside travel. It has affected so many people in so many ways. There are some good outcomes brought about by less busyness. We have to do other things.....no running around constantly. It is good for artists in some ways. We have time to think and approach our art in less frenzy even though there is a lot on our hearts. God has got this!!

Two pieces that are new...the top is called "Weight of The World". It has weights extending beyond the canvas making it a mixed media with the remainder having extensive patterning done with acrylics. The second is a 36x36 done with papers and acrylic paint. It's name is "Dropping In". I'm working with my gallery in California and might be having a solo show out there this spring. That would be very exciting!
The fall has brought change. Moving to a brand new studio in The Ground Floor Artists Studios building in Surprise. I am enjoying the planning with several pieces of new artist furniture and to be surrounded by lots of working artists. There will be opportunities for sharing ideas and critiquing one another's art. My work continues with the fun series of musical themes with my building, ladders and bright colors. The owners of the Gallery have plans for displaying in other areas and parts of the country to bring our art to a larger audience.
I am so pleased to be represented by a gallery called Five3 Gallery located on the Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna, CA. A great spot to have art on display. They sold one of mine called "Intersections", oil on canvas. I love this piece and it looked great in our MN condo (for a short time until it sold). The Dow Gallery in St. Paul is also working hard for me to give my art new homes. One of the Gangster Series called "Ma Barker in St. Paul sold this summer. Yay!!
Welcome back to the blog. We are having an interesting winter here in Surprise, Arizona. The weather has been wetter than usual and Lee has even had softball games cancelled which makes him sad. He loves to play the game. I am really enjoying painting using houses as my visual signifiers. It is interesting to take the imagery off the canvas which I have done with various pieces this winter including , "Tough Enough", "Staying Warm" and "Follow Your Nose". Realizing there is some 3D artist in me I find myself forcing the images to go beyond the canvas. I'm also making some clay pieces and will be attaching them to the canvas soon. It is so fun at my age to be productive making art. I am in a new gallery called Five3 Gallery in Laguna, CA. Check it out www.Five3gallery.com . Every May we are in our Roseville condo to be closer to our family. We plan several events and this year we went to Lake Pepin which is part of the mighty Mississippi. I spent two months playing in the mud throwing and carving small vessels at the White Bear Center for the Arts and also took a Plein Air oil painting class which was good for me but had me outside the box. So much green realism!!
